The amount of money you make as an intern can vary widely depending on where you work and in what role. We’ve broken things down by company type to give you a sense of what to expect. All of the numbers below depend on the location of the internship and specific job title, but they should be fairly close to accurate. 

Banks, Trading Firms, and Other Financial InstitutionsExamples: Jane Street, Hudson River Trading, Citadel

Monthly Salary Range: $15,000 - $25,000

Signing Bonus (most offer this): $10,000 - $25,000

Relocation/Housing Bonus (some offer this): ~$5,000

Hours of Work Per Week: 50-75

Big Tech Companies (FAANG+)Examples: Meta, Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon

Monthly Salary Range: $8,000 - $12,000

Signing Bonus (few offer this): ~$5,000

Relocation/Housing Bonus (most offer this): $2,000 - $3,000 per month
