Company-Specific Questions

Next Module

Most companies have a question bank for their interviews to use. These questions will be specially-chosen to determine if you align with their values. You should prepare for some of these questions so that if you’re asked them during the interview, you’ll have a great response.

You might think “Company XYZ does so many interviews, there’s no way that I’ll be asked the same exact question as someone else.” In reality, it’s quite rare for you to be asked a question that isn’t mentioned in an online review. This research, while annoying, is a good use of your time. We promise!

Online ResearchA few days before you interview with a company, try Googling:

“Company XYZ Job Title interview questions”

Ex. “Nvidia SWE Intern interview questions”

Depending on the company, you might get a Geeks for Geeks post, a Reddit thread, or something else. Read all of that stuff, it can only help. But your main focus here should be Glassdoor.

GlassdoorGlassdoor offers an array of features, but one great one is the company review database, which includes millions of anonymous company reviews. This database not only allows you to read about what employees think of the management, culture, and perks, but also gives you insight into the interview process.

If you search for your desired company and internship role, you should end up on a page like the screenshot below. If the company asks tricky or specific behavioral questions, people will usually mention that in their interview. For technical questions, the reviews are usually more general (it’s considered cheating and against application requirements to tell other candidates what questions you were asked in your interview).

Read as many reviews as you want to. If you see tricky or unexpected questions, write down some ideas for how you’d answer. It’s also good to get a sense of how many interviews the company usually requires before giving you a final decision. All of this knowledge will help you so much in the future!
