Interviews over video conferencing platforms have become standard since 2020. While these can be treated like a regular interview, there are a few additional things to think about. 

• Dress professionally (even though it’s not in-person)
• Have a professional background (if you can’t move to a professional area, blur your background or use a virtual background)
• Take the call in a well-lit area
• Minimize background noise (e.g. putting your phone on silent)
• Limit distractions 
• Let your roommates/family know that you are taking an interview so that you won’t be interrupted
• Make sure your internet connection is strong and your device is charged
• Test out the link a few minutes before to iron out any problems (like a last minute required software update)
