Hackathons

Next Module

Hackathons are 24- or 48-hour coding events that bring together students to create collaborative projects, which usually fit a certain theme. Companies will often run a few Hackathons per year to encourage educational opportunities, collaboration, and innovation. Some Hackathons are also independently planned by organizations, and they can be both virtual and in-person. They can be a great way to connect with companies, as Hackathons involve an introduction to the corporate culture, working with current employees, and meetings with recruiters. They also sometimes involve prize money or real-world projects that benefit others, which are both great perks!
